I am a single mother and working towards my career in Early Childhood Education. Most of my days are hectic and exhausting, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. My parents are so supportive. I can’t begin to explain how much my parents have helped me achieve every goal I’ve ever had. Each parent, in their own way has helped shape the woman I am today and I am so grateful for them.
I have been blessed with a soft heart. I can love with everything inside of me and I will do everything in my power to make sure others are happy. There are a lot of benefits to having such a happy and loving personality, but I’ve learned that there are a lot of bad people who love to take advantage of me also. I feel as though my personality is going to help me become a great teacher. I’m passionate about the human race and I enjoy helping those around me.
There are plenty of people who have supported me and influenced me throughout my entire life. Everyone that I have ever truly known has made an important impact on my life. Most have been good, but some have been bad. After the birth of my son, Airelin, I made the decision to start an education in Child Development at Gadsden State Community College. I initially started this program to gain knowledge about the growth of my own child. It was there where I met Mrs. Cindy Williams. I remember the first impression I had of Mrs. Williams. She was inviting, kind, passionate, and professional. I thought she was perfect and I knew then that I never wanted to disappoint her. At the end of my second semester Mrs. Williams spoke with me about her career in education, life experiences, and then she started to encourage me to change my major and further my education in Early Childhood Education. Little did I know that this emotional conversation would bring me the clarity and the strength that I needed as motivation to apply to Jacksonville State University.
As a teacher I would like to offer my students with something that this world cannot steal from them, and that’s an education. I want to encourage children to always make good choices, and to be the very best they can be. Our future depends on children and they deserve the very best education that they can get. I hope my children walk away from my classroom knowing that I live to assist building the foundations of their future. I see myself surrounded by exciting students in a safe and rich print classroom and I would love to have good and positive friendships with my colleagues. I hope that I am learning just as much from my students as they are learning from me and that I have good rapport with their families. In years to come I hope that my son has everything that he could ever need, and knows how hard I’ve worked to provide for him and myself.
